Request to Teignbridge Planning To consider, and amend as appropriate, whether the following request should be sent to the head of the planning at Teignbridge District council;
‘Dawlish Town Council requests in future that Teignbridge District Council does not send DTC planning committee routine planning applications to be considered for approval until at least 7 working days has passed since TDC has sent out letters and/or posted on the property, to near-by neighbours of the applicant.’
Minutes: The Committee considered the request to send to Teignbridge Planning and agreed the wording of the letter should be amended as follows;
‘Dawlish Town Council requests in future that Teignbridge District Council holds onto Planning Applications until comments have time to come in, where possible, prior to sending to Dawlish Town Council in time for their Committee meetings so that they can make recommendations and comments on a more complete picture.’
Council Wrigley abstained from the vote.
Resolved that the Planning Committee will send the following letter to the Head of Place and Commercial Services and the Development manager at Teignbridge;

This Council Recommends Refusal on the basis that; · The location is on open countryside outside of the settlement limit · It is in a critical drainage area · The proposal has already been done without permission · There is an inherent fire risk with the gas cylinders (and the only way out is past these gas cylinders) · The road is unsuitable · The road is unpassable for emergency vehicles · The land is set aside for biodiversity · It is overdevelopment of the site
This Council further resolved that if the Officer is minded to approve, this Council requests that the application is called into Committee.
