Minutes:

Standing orders were suspended at 7.04pm to allow members of the public to speak.

Discussion was on:

·         the possibility of the Classic Vehicles Event being charged for entry in a future year and the use of donation buckets this year. A decision would be made on Friday regarding the weather forecast for the event on the 16th July 2023.

·         Eat Festival – movement of banners and a complaint from a local vendor over not being able to a have a stall. Officer to discuss with the organisers.

·         RNLI Teignmouth may be able to have a stall at the new stilling basin as an initial approach to Network Rail had been favourable.

·         Horse Show at Warren Farm in September – date to be confirmed.

·         The Dawlish Walking Festival would have 28 walks with a reduced print run of leaflets due to reduced sponsorship. It was suggested District Councillors could be approached for funds.

·         Christmas events – it needed to clearer that the lantern parade was open to all not just those who had attended the workshops. This year was the 800th anniversary of first crib created Saint Francis and it was hoped local shops would incorporate this in their windows or local churches would have displays. The light switch on was likely to be followed by a Mayoral Children’s event at the Shaftesbury Theatre.

·         Possible replacement of the jockey wheel on the Council trailer was needed. Officer to check.
