·         Digging to find an electrical fault with the mains supply to the garage would take place in the first week of February,

·         A piece of sunken flooring had been identified adjacent to the gentleman’s toilets and this was being investigated,

·         Tree works would be undertaken to specimens running adjacent to Old Town Street to prevent overhanging branches and encroachment onto the highway, and other remedial works to larger specimens.  A further quotation for the removal of the large bay tree had been received and would be required to be undertaken within the next 12 months, with a suitable replacement being planted, and

·         A spreadsheet document of works to the Council’s buildings had been established so as provide a reference point for future programming.

Resolved that the report be noted.

68.

Manor House Canopy

To receive and note an update regards the Manor House Canopy (if any) and resolve appropriate action.

Minutes:

The Town Clerk provided an update regards the Manor House canopy planning application and listed building consent application.

Correspondence from the Planning Officer at Teignbridge advised that a response was awaited from their Conservation Officer as this was deemed necessary due to the nature of the application.  An update would be provided once further information had been established.

The Council’s surveyor had advised that were a decision to made on the canopy which fell during the external maintenance and redecoration of the Manor House, a variation to contract could be applied to ensure the one contractor undertook both works to keep costs down.  If the decision was that the canopy must be reinstated, this would require a separate listed building consent which would be unlikely to be granted before the external works were completed.

Resolved that the update be noted.
